1. Connect the systems and import bookings
In Hostaway
First, you need to find your Hostaway ID and API key. To do so:
- Go to Hostaway.
- Go to Settings > Hostaway API
- Under the Hostaway Public API, you need to:
- Click on the Create button
- Enter a name and Choose Stellar Trust as partner
You will see the API key. It will only be shown once! Make sure to copy and save it

Additionally you need your account ID from Hostaway
Within Stellar Trust
- Go to your properties section
- Click on "Connect PMS"
- Then select Hostaway and click on "Import Bookings"
- Add your Hostaway ID number to ID field in Stellar Trust and add the API key to "Secret" and click save
- Go back to accommodations > Connect PMS
- Match your Stellar Trust and Hostaway accommodations (or create them initially) and click save (done)
2. Add your placeholders / merge tags
In order for you to integrate the Stellar Trust online checkin including insurance and deposit management you can now use a merge tag inside your messages. This one is individualized.
- Go to your Hostaway Dashboard and follow path Inbox > Message templates
- Either create a new template or use an existing one
- Inside your template add the merge tag in order to display the Stellar Trust online checkin link
